My time is always running and I need a car to pick it up for if time keeps running out on me I guess my moment is up.

Don’t know why I am rhyming.

Anywho. So in the realm of things that do not matter I made silver in tft and green in hyper which is like finding a single free piece of pizza on the niceness scale but considering the year I think we can all take what we can get.

Next is the writing and I have learned to edit during my tft time so that means another book should be done, will I finally publish, if I can figure out the other things like a cover and overcome the crippling self doubt. Most likely is what I am saying.

Also, filling out some paperwork but that is a secret for now. Shhhh.

So that leaves really things are going and they seem to be going good for now but the need for money is coming and the person who I made the sale through who does work at a restaurant, (I checked) needs to finish his part of the bargain it is during these moments I would like to do it in person but, I really don’t get out much and honestly the cost of transportation is already killing me.

Disability thinks I am still not disabled despite the stack of tests and paperwork taller then me ( six feet tall) so I feel I still have the right to continue bashing judges because if ya’ll are that stupid then you need to get a talking to and possibly a third grade reading lesson.

College is next on the list and work has been going good, being pulled in so many different directions is really painful though especially when it comes to how much needs to be done still. I still need to find some stuff to do when it comes to how to market but nothing gets done with money to do it and right now a lot of places don’t want to hire even for part time work, I have tried, but once again being disabled tends to throw a couple dozen spanners in the grinder.

Just really need to keep moving forward and while things can feel like it is so aggravating that you want start to bang your head on the desk and while it may feel that way. The only thing that would do is give you a nasty headache. I am just speaking from experience on that myself. When people say there are jobs they do not mean in Portland because right now nobody wants to hire.

Problems come and then we need to find solutions to it so all of this should hope things get a little more comfortable soon.

Op Noobs Opinion Pieces

So I tried to answer an ad on Craigslist about a gaming website where they had just wanted a game review and that they would supply the steam keys for it. It was a small amount of work that I could do very easily, and I felt happy to give it a crack. I send some feelers out and we start the process to see if I can write for them.

I love games and this would help flesh out my portfolio so to speak. It would allow me to also start building my portfolio more while getting more traction as an article writer. It would give me some free games to play and that was payment enough for what I was doing. Let’s see where things go from here.

My first assignment just to see my range of writing was an opinion piece. You can check their website to see what counts as opinion pieces about PC gaming. Give them a look when you have the time just seeing all this stuff that counts as opinion pieces. They had a fair variety of different subjects that I thought could be played around with. Got a reply back that my work has personality that they really like. Unfortunately, they also said that my sentence structure needs work, and that was the big problem. It was big enough that I wasn’t wanted to write at this time which is gutting for me, but it also gives me something to work on. I will have the pieces on here in the next couple days just so you can see what I attempted to get this position with.

Going to work on my sentence structure, and make sure to remember that article writing and book writing are two different forms with different things needed for the product.

Youtube Goal

I originally wanted to get to a speed of two videos per weekday. I can say that at least I can get that to happen with all the health issues going on. There is so many things being made that there is always something to find. Whether it is something from the past or something made for someone’s class games are things that make people happy and as I said before I will do this as long as I can.

Some of these games you will see have been done on other people’s pages, but there are also some that you will have never seen before. Games that your child can play because they can be fun without hidden swear words. Games for adults going over deeper issues like suicide, depression, and love. I can find a lot of treasure.

I invite anyone who loves games to just check my channel. I am not PewdiePie or JackScepticeye or Markiplier. I don’t need to be. I think the games after you see them will make you want to play them. You do not need a massive gaming rig to do these games. My laptop despite being fairly new is an all around model that specializes in nothing, but can hold its own in a few things. It will never run Skyrim at 60 fps with full visuals engaged, but maybe if things go well I can at least do a SNES emulator if things ever go well enough. Just as likely I would do a full playthrough of a game that just really interests me.

Eventually I will be trying to make my own games currently the card game is taking the time so it will be interesting to keep things in mind while I work on these videos. It is really nice to see how things ebb and flow in popularity and quality as time goes on.

Newgrounds Judging

One thing that happened in the spectrum of games. Newgrounds actually had me be part of a private panel judging on what games would be deemed the best of the month. I had been playing a lot of games from the website for my own little Youtube channel that deals with free indie games or demos.

Playing games to find the good from the bad is difficult but also rewarding because I already have a list of games that should be on places like Xbox or Playstation markets for a couple bucks. I am finding the best values as a pc gamer because despite the venom the term free games can bring there is some mighty good stuff on the market that had gone that path for a little more polish. Some of these games already played and currently being put together in videos. This is about the games for the most part, and while I can be a bit of a goof sometime it is more about the game.

I am finding games that people would not believe you can play for free. Soon I will be incorporating more of the games from different website because a good game is just that, and with so many people mad at so many things in the triple A sector a little look in a different field would be good for some. Many people do not think about such things, but this where a lot of people will get their start and while eventually I would like to do some triple A games that is more of a long term side thing while this is the bread and butter.

I will most likely also try to keep opinion pieces on political or social issues on the channel in its own little series called teatime. Just a basic discussion that I think people will enjoy my points on so I can declare this place to be free of politics once again, and I think that will be a little bit better, because often time there is something so stifling about an article on a subject and, a recording of sound will allow a more free form thought process of understanding in the point and time.

I tried to make enough time for all of them to get a good fair shake, but the puzzle games caught my fancy more this time. It was well deserved because a good puzzle game can be hard to do sometimes, anyway under this is a picture from my voting. The left is the ballot while the right is the games released this month.

Resident Evil 6 : Alcohol may be required.

So me and my uncle play video games once every two weeks and he is one who tries to get all the achievements and looks at things often times with the glass half full with a play style that often takes a moment of thought before embarking on a difficult level. Like Abbott and Costello the best pairs are made with differing styles that can be used to make a variety of situations much easier to diffuse or complete with style and bubbly enjoyment.

Having the game come out to someone who enjoyed the series from start turned bad. We started with Leon’s campaign. After a prelude that made little sense we had to jump in as one Leon and Helena. I don’t mind new characters in the series, and despite my experience to playing all of the games I still knew a fair amount about the universe. Helena was not on the list for being different or “new”. Posed as god knows what it seemed to try to have a little bit of everything with little thought to how it all worked together. Someone adding all the spice in the kitchen only to taste a glorified mess. After going through one of the four campaigns and halfway through another here is a view from the foxhole that the game made us lie in.

Positives

Despite it being a game of the triple A market on an Xbox 360 when the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One are the newest iterations it did show a polish to their visual stylings and it looked like it could be a decent survival horror.

It didn’t blow up my uncle’s console.

Negatives

Coming from a list of positives like that you know this section is going to be full but I will just take what I thought were the biggest offenders.

The controls were clunky not int the classic horror sense that would create tension but in the awe inspiring flavor of bad that makes one wonder how after the movement it wasn’t just written by random chance.

Laziness in writing as evidenced by the body of work overall, in the visuals for reusing multiple maps with no change to game content. When trying to make different stories you do not make the same experiences in different storylines for sections of the game. The prologue had been part of Leon’s story and the environments Chris’s story will give you a serious case of de ja vu. It made me feel that this went out the door in a massive rush job. The characters did not make enough sense to by a soda with and overall I wouldn’t be playing it if it wasn’t for the stubborn pride for the two of us. We will beat it.

If you can choose I would suggest not playing it. There are better games on the individual consoles. Better horror does exist almost everywhere then what has been found so far.

Final score: An empty whiskey bottle out of five. You will need it.

Mega update mon

So grand prix has come and gone. It was less then 24 hours after our run had ended, and the plan was not even close to achieved. Our teamwork needed work as we played like three people instead of one team which cost us. We will be ok though because we got some cards that we can make in to decks if we need to go to standard.

Video wise we will be working on getting the new videos up on top of advertising across the nation. We want to let people know they can learn at our channel a good game of cards and watch us play a couple games they could love as well.

For my further education I have been studying business moves and law to see how I can better apply myself when I finally have the supplies to push in. I would think getting a fair amount of machines that made revenue over time at semi low risk would be a good start. Building from there I would like to get in to books and food service. Books because I simply like to write and I would think it would be much cheaper to do it all in house. Food service just to get the food I have made money on able to make more money for me, but that’s far down the road.

Writing and advertising will be coming soon and things will be getting to pop more so more on that to come.

Last thoughts before Main Event

So with the Portland pro tour past and the main event of the grand prix coming through. The final two of the pro tour were actually first time pro tour players and it has been so long for my friend and I that we hope to do well.

In any case it will be fun, and in the grand scheme of things that is what matters.
A part of me is hoping and worried we will do well and before I go into promo mode which is my little version of talking to think I am the best. Everyone has that mode to psych themselves up or talk to an opponent, but I just name mine promo mode.

Anyway, before I go off saying how I may or may not win it is really all about the game. Having fun with people of many different styles from other walks of life before just nerding out. Soon we will be pushing into advertising and my other projects will be getting some more time including my writing and cooking.

So far the year has been getting fairly good at least in getting stuff done. Hopefully after this weekend I will have another good story to share with all of you. Good luck in your travels.

Back to work

So after the tearjerker we got a whole new setup for the channel which will be a bit challenging and we will be executing a set of aggressive advertising plans as well. My roommate and I after getting all the main videos redone to raise the quality level up we are going to advertise it for all we are worth. After the advertising plans we will wait for three months.

After that we are going to have a meeting and see how hard we want to push this channel over all of out other projects. Since everyone is getting much more comfortable with their programs as well as their responsibilities.

Magic training has involved more with what may come up and hoping for a finish worthy enough for at least a good payday. Cooking wise I have nothing new to report as it seems someone as cast a disappearing spell on my cookbook.

Fanfiction advice and update.

So I am almost done writing this round of fanfiction. As I had put a couple months previous I only have a couple to go and this round has been very illuminating. When you write with preset characters you see how you like to do things, and your style becomes more definable. It also allows you to try some thing you would not normally write about. whether it be very emotional scenes or very action packed ones you can get a fair bit of practice with things you know. I used to do more technical writing. Things that were directions when something had to be done when I was not present in person.

That and I am a class A sucker for a really sappy romance. Always was so being able to get comments from people and hear what they liked or did not like. Posting something online you will always have some problems with people who just want to rip you apart without actually thinking about their comments. There is a difference between constructive criticism and just trying to be hurtful. Which in my case trying to be hurtful over the internet is like trying to cause a paper cut with a soggy oreo. It just is not going to happen. 

So I am almost done and if you want to start with fanfiction the best information I could give is to just jump right in. Find a show or a game that you want to do something before just jumping in.
