First O’ The Year.

The new year and it already feels like there is a lot of uncertainty in the world. Working on a lot of things it makes me wonder what the year has in store for me and I can only hope that a lot is going to come and part of something that has been the big problem for me has been my youtube channel.

I don’t know what people will want to see on the site and looking at my channel that has been around for a while and at this point I do not know what to do with it. I want to have something with it and it has just been something where there should be something and the time has changed that I will do more on Twitch then YouTube and I want to do something here, I just don’t feel that gaming is it for me here, right now.

Enough of the down, here is what is going on Millwordy is going to be fun, college classes are on for later this month and I am excited and I am looking at getting the business plan polished because we need to figure out how to get some money and how to get these products to more people. We have had some good talks so far and the end of the year has ended with some high notes when it comes to restaurants starting with orders.

Writing is going to be big and depending on how I can get to other projects there may be much more coming, but I also have to learn a couple things on those ways. In any case I hope you all find yourself a happy new year and things do get better in your lives.

Ever play Jet Set Radio Future? I love that game, when I think of being part of a group it is really that game because each character had their own personality but they came together for their own group. That and DJ Professor K was awesome. Video games have such an ability to go into depth of story and honestly I do not think we even scratched far beneath the surface on it. I hope to get to the point I can help produce them but that will be something down the road. Not as far as it was last year but sometime down there still.

Youtube Goal

I originally wanted to get to a speed of two videos per weekday. I can say that at least I can get that to happen with all the health issues going on. There is so many things being made that there is always something to find. Whether it is something from the past or something made for someone’s class games are things that make people happy and as I said before I will do this as long as I can.

Some of these games you will see have been done on other people’s pages, but there are also some that you will have never seen before. Games that your child can play because they can be fun without hidden swear words. Games for adults going over deeper issues like suicide, depression, and love. I can find a lot of treasure.

I invite anyone who loves games to just check my channel. I am not PewdiePie or JackScepticeye or Markiplier. I don’t need to be. I think the games after you see them will make you want to play them. You do not need a massive gaming rig to do these games. My laptop despite being fairly new is an all around model that specializes in nothing, but can hold its own in a few things. It will never run Skyrim at 60 fps with full visuals engaged, but maybe if things go well I can at least do a SNES emulator if things ever go well enough. Just as likely I would do a full playthrough of a game that just really interests me.

Eventually I will be trying to make my own games currently the card game is taking the time so it will be interesting to keep things in mind while I work on these videos. It is really nice to see how things ebb and flow in popularity and quality as time goes on.

Newgrounds Judging

One thing that happened in the spectrum of games. Newgrounds actually had me be part of a private panel judging on what games would be deemed the best of the month. I had been playing a lot of games from the website for my own little Youtube channel that deals with free indie games or demos.

Playing games to find the good from the bad is difficult but also rewarding because I already have a list of games that should be on places like Xbox or Playstation markets for a couple bucks. I am finding the best values as a pc gamer because despite the venom the term free games can bring there is some mighty good stuff on the market that had gone that path for a little more polish. Some of these games already played and currently being put together in videos. This is about the games for the most part, and while I can be a bit of a goof sometime it is more about the game.

I am finding games that people would not believe you can play for free. Soon I will be incorporating more of the games from different website because a good game is just that, and with so many people mad at so many things in the triple A sector a little look in a different field would be good for some. Many people do not think about such things, but this where a lot of people will get their start and while eventually I would like to do some triple A games that is more of a long term side thing while this is the bread and butter.

I will most likely also try to keep opinion pieces on political or social issues on the channel in its own little series called teatime. Just a basic discussion that I think people will enjoy my points on so I can declare this place to be free of politics once again, and I think that will be a little bit better, because often time there is something so stifling about an article on a subject and, a recording of sound will allow a more free form thought process of understanding in the point and time.

Below is a screen capture of my voting screen and it is was based on originality, execution and fun I had playing them. I tried to make enough time for all of them to get a good fair shake, but the puzzle games caught my fancy more this time. It was well deserved because a good puzzle game can be hard to do sometimes, anyway under this is a picture from my voting. The left is the ballot while the right is the games released this month.

Let’s play – Let’s not

For those who do not know I have a Youtube channel and for those who do know it is only been indie games. Games not released by big studios for people to have fun and not for the profit margins. Recently though I was going to begin a let’s play on Advance Wars a charming little real time strategy with a good style and overall pleasantness despite the subject of war. Then I realized after editing had been done and all the little things ironed out. Except Nintendo has this program that if you do not release videos under then it would count as a copyright strike. Three copyright strikes means the channel gets iced and I would like to keep it for a little bit.

So that means to scrap the whole thing and do another video. Which is not a problem to anything but to the clock. I am getting another video done. It just really is a buzzkill not because of the whole profitability issue. I am not making any money off my channel so it does not really matter. It sucks because how many other people do you think said things to themselves before deciding on doing a video. It can make one wonder how much free advertising Nintendo is removing from themselves.

Oh well. If that’s what they want they can have the consequences to boot.

Work in Adobe Finally Improving

So in my Youtube project I finally gotten a very basic grasp on the basic cropping and stretching functions which I am kinda surprised took me this long to get. The good news after everything finally clicked that the videos look a lot better and just watching some of my older works to this point. It is nice to see all the progress and even from the old videos I used to do, and I might be doing some card game videos soon which is where I started when me and my friends did a group channel. I also spent a little time making a new banner for my channel. Its not something I am happy with though so back to the drawing board. Views are slowly working their way up and I am getting close to a total of 200 views. Hopefully, I don’t have a voice like a Novocaine if i do then it is something to work towards or sell recordings as sleeping aids. It is still fun to do so the project will continue, and hopefully if all goes well we can get it going to a respectable number and continue having more fun.

Just prior to doing this post ( I schedule ahead so I can have different things on here and not throw myself in to a tailspin on the draw) Luckily, there are so many indie games out there that I could do it for the rest of my days so there is plenty of fish in the pool to draw from and with a better recording program which I love (Loilo) things are much easier and although there are still a couple problems to work out we are getting further then we have before.

Experiences on Youtube 1

Let it be said that if something was easy then everyone would do it. After doing some videos I have had a little bit of views in the small amount of time that I had done. 125 views in the two or three months. Not bad, but after some conversations and a hard look at it I realized some things.

After some communications throughout different branches I need to focus it in a little bit more. I want my channel more about the positive but instead of investing my time showing the good of a game I just did what I thought would be good and hoped it worked. So I did some thinking and figured out how I am going to do this. So I have my journal for youtube stuff and reading over it it seems that my videos do need to be more focused. I can still be about the good in the games industry I just should pick my spots a little bit better and work on building a base first then overall just doing what may be good.

It may be embarrassing for someone to tell you that you are doing something wrong, but when someone does it you can tell if they are just trying to rankle you or just trying to make it so you get depressed. It is hard to do when you love something and you want it to succeed from the very bottom of you but it doesn’t.

Learn from it and keep your focus which sounds so easy on your screen, but is so difficult to pull off in truth. Good luck, in your goals and now I am going to try this again after more research to make my stuff even better.

The legend of update: Bad pun’s mask

So what is going in life well that is a semi funny question.I am trying to figure out how to make a breakfast cupcake (not a muffin) So while that is being mulled over. I have gotten some recipes done that are fairly cheap to make, and not like the other ones are really not. I have done two ramen dishes if memory serves. Still we will be playing with tofu for another recipe in the future as well the secret to the quesadilla and how to do simply delicious fried rice. Now normally when I say it I also seem to bungle it by doing something else.

Luckily the pictures are already in the camera as well so even I can’t screw it up.

In things other then cooking I actually got some game videos and I’m finding playing with the program for the video editing at least somewhat cathartic. Recently got some videos on proxy, glitch lab, and chamber door so if you find yourself wanting to play those games you can find the links on the videos through the youtube link on the side.

Writing wise national novel writing month is coming up and I hope to get something done for that.

Philosophical Musing and Diet Dr Update

So if those of you have noticed I tend to have a fair bit of faith in my own talents and abilities and other days I sound like a second string super villain. Taking some time away from becoming the understudy to the Riddler to wax philosophically I have found out three things.

A. Advertising independently for more then three hours straight is like unknowingly taking a clone of yourself on a date. Nothing to talk about trying to figure if the both are on the same league.

B. Trying to do so without feeling like a gigantic nob takes at least ten pages of whatever I am reading or writing to take your mind off of it for a moment. Which normally as with the group youtube channel would be much easier because we could just revolve when we needed breaks.

C. I spend way too much time thinking.

Going to the update portion of the this post I got some recipes and I am working on the organization a little bit more.

National novel writing month is coming up so if the time allows I will see if I can get something out for that.

Having fun doing game videos through what I can find on Newgrounds though, and a couple of them are already out. It is nice to see how some people have taken to learning on creating whole new worlds. I love trying new things even if it is a new world and that is one reason why I love games. Plus, some of the best stories come from games. To each their own personal cup of story enjoying tea.

The great update-i

So I got some videos up on my channel and working with the recording software I found that since I do not have speakers or a sound card in this machine I have that most of my sound will be voiced over for a little bit. I am still working on how to make better videos so it is just something that will be dealt with once we get there. As it stands I am having some fun with the games on Newgrounds so that will be where my first videos will be based from until I can figure something out with recording more console based game wear.

As it comes to advertising I am looking to add this to blog rolls as it stands I have some good feedback from some of the options.

November is coming and with it the start of national novel writing month. The goal is to write a 50,000 word story in the span of thirty days which I think will be very fun to get some of my writing chops a bit more seasoned.
