Opinion time – Fairmont Premier Insurance Company or Brad Culpepper

So I present something of a new style of writing is we are going to look at the two forces in a story and go down a few points before realizing a couple conclusions. What these conclusions are as follows.
Does the media explain both sides of the story normally when reporting?
What does the information say on the matter?
Who is right if the decision had to be reached now?

The end will follow with who do I believe, what do I believe and why I believe it. It is an opinion piece, but I hope you enjoy talking about this or at least find this interesting.

Brad Culpepper has been making home in the hot water that his time on Survivor. His insurance company says the he is not disabled, and wants their money back because he was on a show where he was obviously well enough to live in the outback specifically on the Blood vs Water season. Sounds pretty simple at the beginning, but is it?

Research: According to the NFL he has nine seasons of experience between the years of 1992 and 2000 as a defensive tackle. He has also experience playing college ball while getting his degree at the University of Florida. After his seasons he began working on another career getting a law firm together and even after six years had no complaints against his firm he helped in the case when the NFL and to set new rules when dealing with concussions. He filed a workers comp lawsuit in 2010 using a supposed loophole as reported by workerscompensation.com, settled it in 2011 for a $175,000 an amount also reported by ABC news.

The Insurance Company working on behalf on the NFL believe that he is not disabled. That his actions have show he is perfectly healthy, and he is committing fraud. They believe that one cannot go on Survivor without being deemed healthy enough, and not disabled and that his actions in achieving an “honorary black belt in MMA” as reported by the Tampa bay Times is more then enough evidence to make him pay it back.

So let us go over the first part. Does the media explain both sides, and I do not think they did but that would be due to the use of silence in media from the insurance company. Insurance companies are usually not very verbal until the last minute.

The information is rather light on his injuries. Maybe, I just didn’t look under the right digital rock, but I do not find any info except vague injuries on his shoulders, head, and knees. What got me though was in the article from the L.A Times it made a note of how he had gone to practice, and doing things to make weight even dealing with pneumonia while playing at least four games. He was quoted as being asked to go do ‘Survivor’ by his wife who had done the One World season. These seasons had been bolded and underlined because the blood vs water gimmick which was the season where relatives or loved ones of past competitors would compete against their more experienced associates. The money he got from his suit with his skill set, and even some of the other things he has done may not have been needed, but that is just a guess. Throughout the articles though he has shown that he likes to push himself, loves his wife, wants to make her proud and even though he has been classified disabled he has not been defining himself by the classification.

In closing in my personal opinion. Unless the insurance company has solid one hundred percent evidence that he lied or he hid something so large that he was clearly not handicapped then I will think that he was in the right, and continue to be there. I also think that if the NFL really thought this was a good idea with as many people that tough out problems on their field since their inception then maybe people should re-think for a just small moment watching a major game coming up.

Here are the articles I looked up to get some information. Give them a read to gather your own opinion. Leave your own ideas in the comments and have a good day everyone.

The legend of update: Bad pun’s mask

So what is going in life well that is a semi funny question.I am trying to figure out how to make a breakfast cupcake (not a muffin) So while that is being mulled over. I have gotten some recipes done that are fairly cheap to make, and not like the other ones are really not. I have done two ramen dishes if memory serves. Still we will be playing with tofu for another recipe in the future as well the secret to the quesadilla and how to do simply delicious fried rice. Now normally when I say it I also seem to bungle it by doing something else.

Luckily the pictures are already in the camera as well so even I can’t screw it up.

In things other then cooking I actually got some game videos and I’m finding playing with the program for the video editing at least somewhat cathartic. Recently got some videos on proxy, glitch lab, and chamber door so if you find yourself wanting to play those games you can find the links on the videos through the youtube link on the side.

Writing wise national novel writing month is coming up and I hope to get something done for that.

Philosophical Musing and Diet Dr Update

So if those of you have noticed I tend to have a fair bit of faith in my own talents and abilities and other days I sound like a second string super villain. Taking some time away from becoming the understudy to the Riddler to wax philosophically I have found out three things.

A. Advertising independently for more then three hours straight is like unknowingly taking a clone of yourself on a date. Nothing to talk about trying to figure if the both are on the same league.

B. Trying to do so without feeling like a gigantic nob takes at least ten pages of whatever I am reading or writing to take your mind off of it for a moment. Which normally as with the group youtube channel would be much easier because we could just revolve when we needed breaks.

C. I spend way too much time thinking.

Going to the update portion of the this post I got some recipes and I am working on the organization a little bit more.

National novel writing month is coming up so if the time allows I will see if I can get something out for that.

Having fun doing game videos through what I can find on Newgrounds though, and a couple of them are already out. It is nice to see how some people have taken to learning on creating whole new worlds. I love trying new things even if it is a new world and that is one reason why I love games. Plus, some of the best stories come from games. To each their own personal cup of story enjoying tea.

Video wise there is another one up on the game called chamber door a nice little point and click adventure is worth a play if anything

The great update-i

So I got some videos up on my channel and working with the recording software I found that since I do not have speakers or a sound card in this machine I have that most of my sound will be voiced over for a little bit. I am still working on how to make better videos so it is just something that will be dealt with once we get there. As it stands I am having some fun with the games on Newgrounds so that will be where my first videos will be based from until I can figure something out with recording more console based game wear.

As it comes to advertising I am looking to add this to blog rolls as it stands I have some good feedback from some of the options.

November is coming and with it the start of national novel writing month. The goal is to write a 50,000 word story in the span of thirty days which I think will be very fun to get some of my writing chops a bit more seasoned.

Thoughts about teaching

So recently things have not been going on in the unhipster camp. People have been disappointing me in ways I really am hurt by. A thing I like to go by is that when someone asks me for help that I will do just that until they either raise there stock as the saying go. I love seeing people succeed, and I think that people do not know what they can do until they are forced to do it sometimes.

Following the disappointments from grand prix people who know me also know that I push people to be the best in everything they wish to strive for. So when I push and learn new things to further my own abilities it takes a lot of energy to even match me. Not to toot my own horn it is just when I push to learn sometimes eighteen hours some days between games, audio work, drawing, writing, advertising, marketing, finding a better job, working on my own economic situation.

People will come to be either your greatest asset or your greatest disappointment. The only disappointment by number is to have someone simply to leave before their abilities reach fruition. It has happened in the kitchen, in games and really every day it happens more then it should. A part of the issue is that people simply do not have the drive to really make their mark. From the other side of the coin I think a big issue is also the point of education or to work with someone to help them.

No matter what trade or what hobby you participate in it takes a special type of person to give the knowledge that they have without a whole lot of expectations in return. One day once a lot more of my financials are handled I really wish to be in a position to take a person and really take the time to train them imparting what I would have learned by then. Some people will not give the experience because many people believe they can still make money on it. True to some degree, but when some people will ask me to teach them to the best of my ability in something I will go to my limits for that person if they show they are receptive to it.

If someone was to beat me using a technique I had taught them then I had would then have to raise my game and as a response I would have to grow. I look at that as a form of payback to teach and have someone best you then you need to get better. Having someone you taught to give you that opportunity to better yourself is a form of pride for me. I wish that when I become more then what I am here that it can happen to propel someone to the next level.

Just my thoughts,
T.J

Mega update mon

So grand prix has come and gone. It was less then 24 hours after our run had ended, and the plan was not even close to achieved. Our teamwork needed work as we played like three people instead of one team which cost us. We will be ok though because we got some cards that we can make in to decks if we need to go to standard.

Video wise we will be working on getting the new videos up on top of advertising across the nation. We want to let people know they can learn at our channel a good game of cards and watch us play a couple games they could love as well.

For my further education I have been studying business moves and law to see how I can better apply myself when I finally have the supplies to push in. I would think getting a fair amount of machines that made revenue over time at semi low risk would be a good start. Building from there I would like to get in to books and food service. Books because I simply like to write and I would think it would be much cheaper to do it all in house. Food service just to get the food I have made money on able to make more money for me, but that’s far down the road.

Writing and advertising will be coming soon and things will be getting to pop more so more on that to come.

Also apologies to the family of Robin Williams.

Progress update 7/30

Alison learning was finished for now and know I have three diplomas. One in customer service sciences, and yes there is such a thing. Another in children’s studies going over how children of different ages react and learn and the methods of the past that has been shown to be somewhat reliable for that. The last is in probability so I can at least tell what my odds are when I try to do something. It may not mean anything to add to the resume, but the set up was easy to continue while being very informative.

Magic wise we are still having issues, but a lot more have been ironed out. Soon after that we will be advertising the revamp and getting all that stuff set up is taking a lot of time out of the night. It is going to be fun at grand prix starting in less then ten days.

Advertising wise the youtube channel will also be advertised with the e-book so I got a lot to learn about the next few weeks.

Doing some more writing to get more experience.

Shirt designs have been on the back burner.

One needs to get the most of opportunities.
One also needs more time in the day and more caffine.
Good luck all.

Finally published, kinda

So I have been published for the kindle on amazon. 100 ingredients: Home Edition will be available for 4.99. Although I had to go through self publishing options it does feel good to know I can put whole books up now and other people can read them. Until I hold the book though I still think it is like diet publishing. However I can get a good grasp of advertising and other associated angles before moving on.

Diet publishing aside because of my love literary hardware I did it. I hope you enjoy it. The fanfiction is up after a couple edits. They are not as long as I wanted them to be  Still like them though so they can stay. It is still amazing that I got something published so to celebrate i am going to relax and blow up some ships in Black Flag: Assassins Creed

Publishing and more update

It is amazing how technology works. I am always surprised at how useful these little machines are plugging away at things until we get something done often time with less input then if we did it all ourselves. Soon I will be attempting to get in to video editing to give our editors on the youtube channel a much needed reprieve. That does mean all my projects are going to take some time to get back up to speed.

Chicken a la kiev will be the first recipe next month with a couple more planned throughout the month. Still working on that getting a basic cover set up for the first book 100 Ingredients: Home Edition.

I am going to try for four recipes next month granted that something does not stop me like my oven blowing up. Odd catastrophe aside the four recipes will work with a variety of proteins. One chicken, one shellfish, one fish, and one with pork.

So with that I got a lot of things going and I need to get back to work on them. Thanks for your comments and see ya next time.

Weekly update 5/19/14

So in an attempt to get some advertising for the videos we had some meetings with small card shops in the area. It was an experience that was interesting to say the least. Trying to sell ourselves as a new resource to get more people to play. As it stands we have planned out the deckbuilding series as well as the series about different decks you may encounter in play. You always know when you feel comfortable about something until someone else sees it for the first time. I hate that part even if it is perfect I still go to full ocd mode.

The final fantasy shirt designs are done and will be posted soon as well as fiction posted to different sites. One day I hope I can do more enjoying of my life and less work. Oh well sometimes the journey can be just as important.

Also I have gotten a “new” cookbook with recipes that may show up on here ever so often. It is the New York Times Cookbook 1968. Nice old book that I got on sale at a secondhand store.
