Portland Death Spiral

This blog was initially built on the idea that is going from homeless to a semi-productive member of society, there would be some things I can see that others would miss. One could even say that because of my intelligence and my experience, there are bits and details that politicians do not have or would only use in the political batoning for their own political side. Those who have read this know my politics are rather centered and may pull from both sides depending on what may be needed for specific problems to be removed or handled.

That being said, this is not against a side or a party.

Portland is spiraling into something not a lot of people want to be associated with. Stolen cars are being broken down in broad daylight. Homeless people all over, and laws that made it so there would be no problem carrying all kinds of drugs without a problem. The city commissioners went through protest after protest. Then, there was no movement when they had to rebuild from the ashes. All people who are against them have been deemed from the opposing party when they have made error after error, and the city right now is hurting to the point where no one wants to live there. Nobody wants to open a business there, and there are more taxes than in the surrounding areas.

There are so many problems that when you look at what is going on, you have to ask, where do you start? From that, I do not have an answer, and there is something that seems to be missing every day. Like the city had finally died, it feels passed on. While moments had been good, looking almost normal for small snippets, it is about what the normal is, and the normal in the city is a far shadow from what it once was. There are not enough good things coming, and a lot of the bad has been left to fester, meaning there is even more that needs to get done to bring it back. Again, it looks terrible, and there is not a lot that can be done right now without people enforcing laws and punishing those guilty. None of this is new, and if it is, look in the back posts; trust me, there is plenty to get mad about.

I haven’t written about my home city because unless it is more people not doing their jobs or people trying politically smack people only to get a riptide in the wrong direction, there just isn’t much to say. People in charge in Portland must be the most extensive collection of abject failures in politics. If any of them can look from this time and say they did a good job, I would love to hear their side because it looked like they just sat and played Genshin Impact all term.

Who knows, when things change, I will write about it, and if something is horrible, I will do that too, but right now, I really do not want to. May do some cheap and fun foods to make for later. With the cost of everything, we can all use a couple extra pennies for groceries. We shall see, though.

Portland to Portlandia to Portlandistan

I have felt utterly defeated not only because people in this city seem to have a problem with listening. I am utterly disgusted by the city, in efforts to try and stop whatever they are trying to do with the pandemic businesses are closing down in masses, homeless camp cover the parks where they dotted them before and watching Hardesty and Wheeler speak on things of importance is like wanting to bond my soul to a bottle of bleach and the only reason the others on the city board aren’t here is they have done absolutely nothing of major importance.

Not one positive thing has come out of this collection of intellectual failures roaming around as a city council. Instead, more people are dying, less people protect them, more businesses are shuttering, and less money can be made. While some of the dumbest people are clucking about signaling they have the brightest virtues. Failing in methods makes me wonder if they are either full of malice or idiots so low on an intellectual scale that they should be removed from office.

Hardesty is emotional, but she is a fool. Her intense reliance on everything being racism with no evidence and no moral fiber is easy enough to understand. She is hunting boogeymen that are simply not there, even by the cities and her own numbers.

Wheeler. Ted Wheeler has to be one of the dumbest people to take the office of mayor. May I remind you that this was the same person who actively worked Antifa and allied groups against the proud boys. Hate them or love them, I don’t care but the proud boys are not worse then Antifa and their ilk. Which made the start of banning one and permitting the other a shocking turn. Something I even said “ would rebound badly if this civil unrest is not put under control” I was right. Some people say I wasn’t because that it hurts their feelings.

Fuck you I was right, and I hate that I was. I hate I cannot stand that me, a person with no formal political training called almost verbatim, I said 5-10 years and I sunk it closer to 10. Portland’s east side is beginning to mirror that of Chicago, and the nickname from those who live there is based off a conflict we had for years. So Chiraq being what it is, I would like the right to nickname, as I have been right more then any other person on the subject of the city, to be Portlandistan.

Also, those on Twitter claim that nothing is wrong by the city’s own numbers things are factually incorrect. Living in the whitest, hipster infested, morally bankrupt sections of the city does not meanmuch when you do not know any better. You do not count for east, northwest or even the southwest where camps have sprouted in the woods near highways. You. Are.Wrong.

What is a big problem is the following. Say you don’t like something doing their job, so someone else needs to do it or the duties need to be transferred over. You cannot just go and try to destroy the old jobholder without planning to move the duties to something else that can properly handle it. No matter what it is from the cops, the city council, or even the mental health system, one can’t just burn it down without putting in something else. If it isn’t ready, the damage trying to install a new system from scratch will pale what the system previous did.

Another thing will be coming out today on this blog about another project. So if you want to stay and keep reading, then that’s great. If you do not I understand but for my own mental health if I don’t do other things, I will need a bottle of rum and a padded room.

Dear Portlandia, screw you.

Some people may be reading this because of the series Portlandia. I personally cannot stand the thing’s existence. It used to be my spot reserved for stuff like South Park or Family guy, but I have never felt more insulted of my home then watching an episode of what some people call a satire.

I have even had some people want me to calm down, and take it for the comedy it is supposed to be. The problem is that if it does not make me laugh then it is not comedy to me, it is people taking a subject close to my heart and makign themselves look like utter fools with it.

What if someone made a show about everyone in San Francisco was a bunch of overly emotional nymphomaniac with sever mental disorders. I bet some would laugh, but some would still be insulted because somewhere where they may have established close friendships or found their loved one, made memories is being turned in to the butt of bad jokes.

Now, some may think I am overly serious. Most likely that is true, but I am not against the idea of a show like Portlandia, but the comedy that is supposed to make the reflection upon oneself go smoothly is rough and feels painful. I have tried watching it and fans I have spoke with have said it gets better I just can’t spare another moment of time nor a modicum of my remaining energies to try and understand this.

You want comedy in Portland, how about a transvestite putting a smack down on three gang members on a night Max from Chinatown. Cooks trying to backstab each other for horribly paid positions because a lot of them are just damn good at what they do. How the service industry in the city could double as a minute militia if the city was ever deemed dry by one of the dimwitted politician or social justice group. How strikes shut everything down or just piss people off when one group has barbecues to get their point across by giving away burgers and fries so people listen. Each of those could be funny, but just the way it is delivered needs to show the good and the bad which maybe they changed from the parts and episodes I tried to watch but it just looked like insulting garbage taking the best parts of a city and mocking them because of one reason for another.

If you like it, then great, but for the whole series of Portlandia, 

Screw you.

Drawing For Dreamers

So the first step making my own little card game for people is getting done on the whole. Sketches of more then ten percent have been completed and part of me is quite happy to finally do some drawing while trying to get some other things handled. On the whole their will also be two ways to win available from the first set.

You can win be having the opposing leader losing all of their hp or you can win by having certain combinations of creatures with a single other card. I am trying to balance to capability for both and you can use your hp for your leader’s special ability. So whatever ways you want to win should be able to happen. Healing your leader is pretty rare so whatever you lose should be figured that it will not be returned. There are cards that can switch your generals with one out of play, but you should not count on that saving you every time as there will not be many.

Overall I hope this builds a semi exciting game that people can have fun with. if you cannot have fun then what would be the point of things like this anyway.

Publishing and more update

It is amazing how technology works. I am always surprised at how useful these little machines are plugging away at things until we get something done often time with less input then if we did it all ourselves. Soon I will be attempting to get in to video editing to give our editors on the youtube channel a much needed reprieve. That does mean all my projects are going to take some time to get back up to speed.

Chicken a la kiev will be the first recipe next month with a couple more planned throughout the month. Still working on that getting a basic cover set up for the first book 100 Ingredients: Home Edition.

I am going to try for four recipes next month granted that something does not stop me like my oven blowing up. Odd catastrophe aside the four recipes will work with a variety of proteins. One chicken, one shellfish, one fish, and one with pork.

Portland – My Home – vent

For those who have never been to my home city it has a magic much like Diagon Alley form the Harry Potter series. You can find anything your heart desires permitting you knock on the right door. We have people who constantly and aggressively push and evolve their skill sets. People hungry to get to “the next level”. Men and women with a code, a purpose and even a plan. That constant evolving blend of street smarts with books smarts is the Portland I know. there are not many taboos outside of crimes and a lot of respectful people.

That is my Portland, the city I was born in, spent the majority of my life in and in all honesty will probably have my grave in. What this city is NOT is a name to rally behind in an effort to be the most undesirable, rude, egomaniacal group of fakers and fad chasers the world had ever seen.ImageImageImageImage
