Progress and Pain

It has been a while, but I have done a lot. First, I got a few mixes made up and done, and while I like the flavors, I run the numbers a couple more times to make sure everything is where I think it is.

When I began sharpening my formulas, I wanted to have a few products, I wanted a couple and landed with seven seasonings and mixes I am happy with and can make. I went through the numbers once, and after tweaking the recipes again, I should be fine. Still, it is nice to be sure when starting, which is good because I needed something to take my mind off the disaster my family has become.

I got an upgraded formula to the first three items, and now with the following four, I can even say I have a powdered veggie stock made out of vegetables, no extra chemicals. I got a pizza seasoning that is not spicy but adds so much more flavor. I also got something for some dessert shops. I made an apple chocolate truffle with my production techniques, and it feels good to know you got something that can’t be beaten.

I really need to do this with my good camera. All 7

I feel good about specific products with business-to-business usage and then specifics for selling to the peeps and populace in different stores. However, one of the few things that still bothers me is going to be simple production. I can only make so much of each item with the work needed, with the ingredients taking two days per round.

Often one day is needed just for the drying and after cooking, cleaning, prepping, seasoning, often taking a half-day to a full day, and on top of that, my body will not be able to do it all with no breaks. Still, with the time of two days from fresh to seasoning and testing and retesting and being happy with what we have, we can do three cycles of cooking and drying every week. One day will be enough for additional rest, tinkering on new formulas, taking a rest day.

So after one more set of number crunches, I will be ready to advertise and go. Also, I got some ideas for more products and stuff to make things happen.

Progress at Any Length

Three products were designed and worked on to the point where I can feel like selling them.

One is a salt substitute that includes some different dried mushrooms ground to powder and a pinch of white pepper. If salt does it, then this combination, after a process, brings out more flavor than ever. It takes a full day from when the mushrooms come into when I can put them in the seasoning, and that is, although time-intensive, the flavor it brings is second to none. I have done some light testing against similar products, which are not many, and honestly, I feel like mine tops the heap.

The second one is sugar and a mix of roasted vegetables, fruits, and garlic with a bit of brown sugar. Put that together, and it becomes a mix that works on anything and has a sweet, savory balance that works on meats and roasted vegetables and even some panna cotta. It does not blast other foods or seasonings you are enjoying. No matter how much you eat, it does stand up to anything I have thrown at it making it a perfect co-star in the spice cabinet.

Last is something I tripped over, taking some of the two blends and a couple of extra things and turning them into a spice rub that turned out some of the best barbecue I ever made. Three products, and right now, I cant make a whole lot. It takes at least a full day to cook them down and grind them to powders, so there is that, but I also will have a powdered soup stock as my next item to try.

I still need to find a price point that people can understand. I mean, if someone can make all your food taste good, how much would you pay for it? For restaurants, if I can provide you a flavor profile that would take you hours and take anything next level, how much?

Price points have been an issue of mine before, so it will take some time to research them. However, I have tried selling things at too cheap, and people that there was something wrong with it, and it was a price I had initially thought to be fair.

I had a meeting with a score mentor to go over some of the things I will need to find out about my products to succeed. Of course, there always seems to be things to do, but if you go to my stream and look at my banner, you will see something. A grid behind the big T and in the filled squares is something of a collage, each one representing something I have done as a streamer.

So many questions to answer, but we made it farther than we were last week, so progress is something at least.

Not the right one

So recently I did an update of my bleesed bath salts and I have actually had some meetings with investors for small sums just to see if I can get some things going a little quicker. Brought my business plan to them, the numbers of possible sales, other companies in the field, profit margins, creation, possible advertising possibilities.I thought it was going well we had a good long discussion and what felt like suddenly to me was them saying thy like the plan. They like what it could build to and they think it can be done. They just believe that I am not the person for it, and due to that they would not invest.

I thanked them for the time, but inside I was boiling. I wasn’t the right guy. It rang in my head over and over. Until after that night I was up because it just made me mad. I wasn’t depressed at the time I thought I could pull it off. Now, for those who don’t know I do have bouts of depression where that feeling does come up and I do second guess myself.

It didn’t happen here. I couldn’t feel bad for myself. I am sure that it wil swing that way later but I made it through before and I will again. Dismissing someone as not good enough though made me wonder something for the future of my own businesses.

People nowadays go through life at speeds that taking in all the details, the little nuances of characters can be lost. It is after all through small nuances that different things can be found, tried, and applied and checked against the status quo to see what works best.

The possibility of a nuanced indidividual not being what people expect for a certain position and still have the skills made me think that workforce issues really boils down more to a workplace issue as well.

I really need to stop thinking of such things when people yell at me about how big their deposit is at work.

Blessed Bath Salts – The Saltening

So I am getting nervous. I have found some containers for the bath salts and luckily due to a friend sending me an Amazon gift card I can get a couple set up. The Blessed Bath Salts will not be on sale yet I would like to get some small places carrying it first after a couple more things. Setting the packaging up and getting some of the last parts together is a big step and it means it is the start of getting the word out. Now this means I will be working on this a little bit more, and my other projects will take a slight hit. That is okay my kind of working enjoys that form of chrono-chaos. Often times the reaction can be more potent in the positive then the original action. I am also way too caffeinated to do so much thoughtful typing.

So what makes my product different. First, I use natural ingredients. Tea, extracts, salt, water, herbs and honey or sugar. If you have kids or anyone else you do not trust around more chemically laden fare all this will do is give someone a hankering for a drink. Second, when I say natural I mean natural no chemicals to make it last longer, and it lasts long enough I had actually tested the aroma after a full year and it still held the aroma needed for a warm relaxing bath. Last, but by no means least is value. I am not one to sell things for exorbitant prices. Everyone could use a relaxing bath sometimes. Some people may not want it except for once in a while and we can accommodate that it will be a blessing to those who may find themselves needing a nice lift. Parents, Career trend setters, people allergic to other chemicals found in other bath salts this is something that will be for you. No fancy colorings in the salt no stabilizers needed.

A page for the salts will be coming soon to Facebook as it stands. I want to make it look nice and there will be a post here on the blog to tell of it’s creation so good luck in your projects and have a good one.
