Nanowrimo 2016

So after a whole month and going down to the wire my word count is 50,743 making this year a success. In the process, I have finished both Shattered Reflections and my NaNoWriMo project from last year which has a title right now of Writing Time. That may change after some editing, and now I have decided on the next two book projects. The two finished ones will go into the editing pile while the next two are up one will be the sequel to Shattered Reflections.

Previously I may have said how I would not do it until my 30th birthday because of hearing about someone who has not lived life putting out books about life experiences seems a bit hollow. Shattered Reflections was stories about my life until the end of high school. From fights, shootings, police investigation, drug pushers, problem solvers, and I kept it to just about 66k words that it way it does not over stay its welcome. The sequel will be kept at about the same length and it has plenty of experiences to go in it including but not limited to college blacklists, lawyer payoffs, cooking on mountains, casino wins and losses, lawsuits, family drama, being lit on fire, fights, city fights, bad jobs, bad management and more. I always found a way to get into situations that most people hadn’t or shouldn’t but at least that will make it interesting.

Right now the big project is to as was said in a much earlier one have a dozen book projects before moving forward and it looks like there will be an almost even number between the two.

Time Wars is the project based on the media and audiences evolution over the past hundred years to present day as well as some theories on what the next hundred years could hold. It is the project currently up and I am aiming for about 80k word length, and of course allowing it if needs it or not. After the political cycle, I have found there is plenty there to write about with not a whole lot of people to do the writing. After that is the sequel to Shattered Reflections, and after that a Young Adult Fiction project. The card game is still dragging along and overall just things are getting there. Hopefully, I will have a better year coming up then I did before.

Card Game Thoughts 2 – Project Hero

So to start for titles the thoughts are either Dreamers or Dream chasers in either case a card back has been designed I like it it is simple it has some color and your eyes catch it if you see it on a table. This is a basic design though and I will ad more details, unless I feel like it needs an overhaul this will be where the back of card looks like. Many card games have a brown background which I like because other colors showed well the red, yellow, and purple design. I remember red and purple from the face paint of kabuki actors and I thought it really worked well as a combination against each other as long as it wasn’t all red and purple.

DreamChasers back card

Coming to win conditions as it stands now there will be a couple ways to win : decreasing the enemy leader’s hp to 0 or fulfilling a win condition on one of a dozen cards, but they will not be the easiest more working for theme decks and will most likely will be used by more competitive minded people. There are ways around it and even ways to disarm the win condition cards. I tried to make it so that if you like the sneakier method or the straight up battle method there is a couple ways you can do it. In the case that time is up because players lives too then it will be the leader who has lost more hp and not the total which sounds hard to grasp I admit, but it can also be explained like this.

Leader A starts with 5000 hp and Leader B starts with 3500 hp. When time is called A has 3500 left while B has 3000 left since A has lost a total of 1500 versus the opposing Leader only losing 500 then Leader B would be the victor.

Oh Yes and there will be abilities that you can use each leader has one and they cost hp to use. Each one will do something different and will have different amounts of hp to begin with the average is about 5000 while the highest is ten and the lowest is 3500 so it depends on the length of the rounds and your play style to dictate how to proceed. The leaders I tried to really make even so their would be no one above all others and if you use the abilities and never take a hit you are still losing hp so you can defeat yourself that way if you rely on them too much. The field is not yet set as there are couple variations I am still tweaking with I don’t want things to need massive warzones like mtg can sometimes morph to.

All of these things may change depending on ideas or brain waves if I catch any.

Card Game Thoughts part 1

So I am working on a basic card game all the details are in flux right now. But here is what the basics are going to be. Leaders are going to be the guys and girls that each player will use to battle towards their dreams. their are 21 to choose from and you have 61 units, 50 tactics and 50 variables ( tactics and variables are your magic and trap cards of you are have some time in yugioh.) If your general loses all their hp then you lose. Their are different ways to win including the instant win cards by having the correct creature cards out before playing a spell that calls for all of them to be out.

Right now it is just going to be a one time deal with enough to have some fun and if other people would like to add to it then fine. I may add some later. This will be just a card game people can print off and play if they don’t have the money to buy an official set I will need to get around to making. Generals will be with different abilities and hp you can use to make your deck better or worse.

If your general drops to 0 then you lose. Face down units are in defense, face up are offense. A lot of basic yugioh things may be apparent at the beginning. It will phase out after some testing because right now all of this is just conjecture and building the pieces. After putting it together more of the original things and things I had learned from other car games will all make their point there. Got a lot of the effects written out all of which need to be balanced. Then the art begins.
