Fight Club From Homeless Camps

It is unfortunate but fighting does exist in the homeless community and as I said before, everyone of them will have something to make them be able to do more damage, a stack of quarters, a stick, a blade, a needle, mace just for some examples. Considering everything going on with the Portland riots, and don’t worry I got a bit of a thing on that coming later.

When people are passionate, on drugs, or think you are Satan and want to cut others short better be ready to learn quickly when and how to fight because you will get stuff stolen at least once. Camp or pack no matter how you have it if you are out long enough you will need to defend yourself or you may find your life made much more difficult as someone tries to separate you from your gear.

A few tricks that you need mentally will make any attempt a little better if you keep it in mind. Being threatened with a weapon you want to figure out how to control the situation. Doing so is first figure out your capabilities and where you need to run away, and where you need to stand and fight. This is something of a thought exercise and one that takes absolute understanding. I am not going to win a fist fight just as it stands. I am crippled I have nerve damaged and if one my extremities is flaring then I need to be. I do have a pretty good head on my shoulders so defending that I can usually think up something a little more brutal then a punch, a kick to the bollocks is a good start.

Rule two, this is not being graded. You are not in UFC this is what some people would call a street fight so by that let me go over the rules. Win, that is it, just win. Do what needs to be done to get the point across when you have to.

Number three, never feel like you need to fight everyone. Honey will get more then vinegar sometimes, and it very well could be the anger is based out of misunderstanding. Figure out what is the difference between needing to step up and seeing if there is another way, and for each person it will be different how it is graded but knowing is half the battle on that.

Four. Pick your gear. Often you want something light enough to be used without it being taxing or small enough it doesn’t take a whole lot of space. Try something that would be legal to own, because there is a chance the cops may be involved and you do not want.

Finally be aware that some times you will be in a no win situation. This is something where you need to keep your head on the swivel and to keep in mind figuring out where it is good to defend yourself and needing to bail. This may sound mental, like all of this will take more of your mental faculties then if you are just thinking you would roll up, arm up and get ready to start up against anyone.

Last. This is more in reference because of riots and people who may need to defend yourself. Do not under any position use a weapon that could make your life worse. Baseball Bats with glasses is a no-no and baseball bats with high heels is absolutely not good, and if you want to wear heels go for a low comfy flat, otherwise someone cant take the back of your she out and you go to the earth

Protests and the Looters

I did have another post lined up but considering what has happened I felt this was needed. What happened is not in question in that is an absolutely idiotic move with a group of co workers that should have corrected it quickly. I haven’t read anything or found anything that signed especially to racism, but just to sheer stupidity, and boy the officers here were dumb.

Here is my problem though, the whole claiming racism being institutionalized, but without a set array of data and without a target it holds no water. I have seen discrimination, some of my own worst memories came from being discriminated for being raised as a white catholic boy. Not getting mad because other races didn’t help, but instead making sure that I would learn from it. All for when I can break some of the bricks that build into such horrible situations that instead of focus less rage there is a target and a start to break these things down.

The sad thing is you can be mad and claim how something is not in your favor but that doesn’t do anyone any good. Really changing something, you need to break it down in to blocks from relevant data and take each smaller objective on brick by brick. The whole changing an Instagram picture or Facebook picture does nothing without an action. Being emotional thinking the world is out to get you doesn’t do anything but get people to start to ignore you.

I may do more writing on that later but there is a specific end of the riots that got me to think because we are going in to a pandemic issue that did incredible damage to people and to a lot of people’s livelihood and this brought up something. There will be a lot of people I fear that is gong to be homeless after the pandemic with many businesses closing and the whole thing of businesses being hit in great number in riots has done nothing to make me think otherwise.

This is more of an off the cuff writing and to put it simply, to the looters, who think they have the right to steal and break things who come from all races and only have a streak of finding opportunity in chaos, fuck you. Protesters who are just trying to do that and protest now have to look and see their work chained to your damage. Stores will look at this and after the whole pandemic this will be the killing blow to the business. Less business, less jobs, less money, more people on the street.

You can hate the police and granted a lot of them are no friends of mine, but it is a job that still needs to be done so before anyone wants to say kill all police make sure you have a really good plan about who would replace that. Otherwise you are just emotional static at high volume and that does no good.

For those close to homelessness or completely homeless, when it comes to a riot they are groups of people put in between a rock and a hard place. What would normally be safe turns on to its head, some of these people are drugged up or down. Others can be trying to silence the voice in their head or try not to panic and then we got a bunch of yelling vandalizing yahoos. There may be more violence if the homeless feel their camp or their own safety is at risk. Majority of the homeless have something to give them an edge in a fight and the citizenry may not be ready for that.

This entire situation is just bad, it has shown the worst parts of being a person and for any real progress to be made we need to start breaking down the problems down to pieces we can look at, research and verify before getting our eyes as a people on the goal and getting it done.

Keep on and stay strong.

Ox Baker: A childhood hero

For those who do not know I am a pro wrestling fan one of many things. Back when I was younger I felt I was not doing enough good I had this feeling that I was the bad guy in a world populated by people who want to be heroes. I will do whatever to get some jobs done so it made perfect sense to me back then. Kind of a downer really back then until I heard of a guy named Ox Baker.

A guy who ran life like it was good to be bad and a resume that said he did what he wanted when he wanted. Nearly six and a half feet tall and over three hundred pounds he was a guy that had a wild eyed stare like getting in his way was signing your own trip to the hospital. I never got to see any of his work in person. He is notable for training people after he retired one of which being the Undertaker. I was about thirteen when I looked up a lot of his work in the territories including when he incited a riot. His finisher, the heart punch was the last thing felt in the ring before two people died. Neither actually did of course, but he took the heat and made everyone love to hate him. People paid money to see him get decked and he did not mind as long as he and the people were happy at the end of the show.

It may be weird for someone with a cooking background, but Ox Baker had self published a cookbook of his own among many other projects he finished including writing and recording songs and making coloring books. He wanted to do something then he did it. Loud and boistrous while wearing a black hat for those who watch westerns, but only being the true bad guy when he needed to be. It was kind of refreshing because he did those things for the reason of his wanting to. He also did some acting bit parts including one as the antagonist against Kurt Russell in Escape From New York. He died a while ago and I just want to say my piece. He was awesome.

He died on the 20th of October at 80 years of age after complications of all things a heart attack.

Also if anyone can find his cookbook and they want to get rid of it let me know because I would like to have a copy.
