Mike Schmidt – Failure with A Smile

If someone failed badly we would want to shy away from it. When people fails like our District Attorney then we have to realize this is a failure we need to really study and in so this will be a really deep dive because we are starting at the very beginning of the pile of excrement. Below is a picture from the website taken yesterday from the election website so we can all walk through this together. I would say this will be fun, but I would be wrong.

A teacher came to Oregon from Louisiana and decided to try his hand in law, and when he found out he was bad at it he continued doing it showing all of his past student that not only was he someone who did not give up but someone who believed someone could do poor work and still skate by. He is a true D.A for the city and the area. He has two kids and a wife and lives in Portland and has been so lost in space he could not see that letting criminals have endangered more then any other D.A up to this point.

I feel bad, he taught children, who looked at him and thought he had some idea about life; only to find out this man is such an abhorrent failure at his job he should be run out of town at first opportunity. Week after week we hear how he is trying to be more socially equitable and focus on lowering recidivism. Well, he did do that, but unfortunately it wasn’t an intelligent way, because hey, if people do not report the crime they cant be charged for it. He tries to show he is so much better while it comes out that he is a sexist.

I get trying something different, but he has not had one metric that goes his way, not one. As for politics, I was born in Portland and was a Democrat for most of my life before I saw what was going on and had some hard slaps of reality. Lastly, if you are so scared of differences of thought why don’t you take it way back in the history of the democrats and get some pointed hats to wear around. I am sure if the the democrats or the republicans want to do it I will stand here and call it, but unfortunately Portland has had a democratic everything for the past two terms. The County D.A and the governor are also Dems. There are good democrats, there are bad democrats, but Oregon has shit democrats. Oh and he is a sexist as well, so go choke on a salami.

I would be shocked, but first I would have to be surprised and I am more surprised that bean burritos cause gas then holier then thou politicians show they are worthless. Defense attorneys do not want to work with him in fact, so few are there that, according to him cases have to be let go. So people who have been arrested, found dead to rights, just need someone to be charged and they cannot get enough people to do so letting at least a dozen to three dozen cases a month. This is where things like failing to register for a sex offender, for false information to the police, and mind you this does not take into account the blatant political championing for his own side.

One of the biggest angering points is that if you are say part of antifa and you stab someone you get probation because he looks at those sorts of politics, but if you oppose his politics then you get max sentence, it has shown up time and again and while it is not illegal, per se, it shows that they are not above skirting lines and morals. Which would be exactly in line and now the questions is that after all of this, sending the police away, having somewhere the defense does not want to be. Letting racial and political leanings dictate punishments, it just shows that we have a problem and the sad fact about it is, that people will still support him, until they are negatively impacted by his policies. With how criminals are being let out and committing more crimes, everyone in Portland should have an axe to grind against him soon at this rate.

Called It #Why

90 day plan, called it.

Ted Wheeler and the city failed in their ninety day plan again, all of us are not shocked. I am not shocked, you are not shocked, the violence is still not going down, businesses are still leaving and those remaining cant stay open. Let me dust off something. If you believed it as well please enjoy the following.

You were right, I was right , we were all right. This is not a 90 day fix thing its a fix in decades now because the people in charge of Portland have been unable to do their jobs. Generally, I like to be some what calm. I mean I just did some writing about Slamball. The management of Portland simply put has not been able to make changes where it needs to. Someone can not tell me with everything going on that the city has not been able to do everything they needed to with the resources they have. More buildings are going in collections, News for Reasonable People on Youtube is actually a really good source if you need someone in the Portland area.

When people have to deal with such failures there is only the people in charge to blame and while other time there has been some hope of dealing things in a respectful manner there is something to be said that when such failures are so well known that people outside of the country know of the problems in the city. My home is such a failure that people across oceans know we are badly run. Stuff like this

It should not be normal and this person does it every day seeing different parts of the city that has been overrun in squalor. People who should be punished are walking the streets much like the Japanese consulate who had been attacked by one of the idiots in Portland. People who want to exchange information and knowledge get attacked, if that was not a perfect snapshot of the city, then I wouldn’t know what it was. The problem is now bleeding out into the areas around the city where it seems like there is more coming around form more sexual assault in Beaverton.

I have a question. When people do not feel the police can help them, when will people start trying to handle business themselves. Remember all the crimes being reported, they are not reported if someone just pulls a gun out and tried to handle business on their own. The 90 day plan is not going to work, because things are so bad that you need to be ready to fight at times. I carry a knife on me whenever I have to go out, and if its in a bad spot there is a way where my longest blade can sit in my bag and still be in reach. 90 day plans are not going to work, the state cannot save the city from five people who fail so hard and are trying to make it so there are twelve city commissioners. You could have a hundred and if they are of the same level the only thing that would differ is how many being paid.

Mike Schmidt is so bad he should be arrested and that is a post for tomorrow because I had a good vibe today and this had to go and ruin it.

Slamball Teams I am Cheering For

(Midterms bad, this post late, writer cries.)

Today, the Slamball season starts and in Las Vegas so let me tell you who I will be cheering for. My reasons for my choices are really just home state pride and a mix of hoping some new combinations come up.

In the new teams there are two members from the great state of Oregon and those will be the teams I hope get to get some gold at the end of the season. First, is one of the new teams. Stopper for the Ozone, Vincent Boumann out of McMinnville. 6’9 and 285 he is going to be one of the bigger men in the league and hopefully with the resources, skills soon flourish. The Ozone will be coached by one Trevor Anderson, someone who is unknown to me, but there are reasons people are in the coaches positions. Anderson has to be the name that can send someone to the shadows, because if an Anderson doers not want to be found, they are not being found. Hopefully, this Anderson coaching wants to be found on a championship. In any case the Ozone are my number two team to cheer for because the number one team has part of my color scheme of purple and green and it has a member from Oregon.

Slashers have a 6’3 gunner named Bradley Laubacher, a graduate of the University of Oregon and based out of Bend. Oregonians have the nasty habit of showing some magic when pushed with back to the wall. Laubacher may show some of the magic of the Pacific Northwest. On top of that there is a coach who has done a lot as a player, but not much as a coach. Laubacher can make a lot of headway because the position he is, was the one his coach shared in the first seasons. In any case there is a lot to see here, and I have a feeling this could be very good. Also the purple and red of the slashers would look sick with some dark designs. The artist in me is thrilled to see something like that, because outside of these guys only the Toronto raptors were brave enough to run those colors.

The other teams will be the Gryphons, Wrath, Buzzsaw, and Lava for the new teams and the Mob and Rumble will be returning from the first seasons to make sure people remember not to sleep on some history, or history will be made out of them. Slashers being one of the old and the ozone one of the new means I have my picks to get a little bit of everything, the teams you cheer for are like your favorite foods, sometimes you can try different things. Competitive Edge – Slamball 101

(Future Writer Note – this was supposed to go out before it started. Unfortunately, midterms exist.)

Something that when I want to write about sports or competitions that there is a place for it anything from hockey to Excel will be here just so long as people are competing actively against each other. One of the things to put here has got to be slamball.

Back in the saddle after some twenty years here are some things to keep you in the loop when you see it for the first time. Four people in three positions fill the court for both sides and it is these people that will be bouncing back and forth trying to score on the opposing hoop. Courts are smaller and equipped with Olympic level trampolines that can send someone high enough in the air to make a slam dunk, provided nothing stops them.

Which leads us to our positions on the court you got your Gunner, Stopper and Handler. Two gunners, one stopper, and one handler. All of what the titles mean are quite simple. Handlers handle the ball and get them to the gunners who take their shot for the hoop. Stoppers, do what it says on the word and try to stop the shots often bouncing off the tramps. Simple to understand, but hard to master there has been close to two decades of athletes plying their craft. Defending and attacking as one group shoots toward the hoop with contact not so shied away as it is asked for as can be seen by the pads they wear and the glass around the smaller court mirroring that off an ice hockey rink.

Slam dunks are three points, while all other shots are two. No slam dunks where it has to be thrown down, there are cameras on the rims to see if hand to rim contact was made and they will use it ot see if it is worth 3 or 2.

It is something that tells everyone that it will be a rough sport and unlike in Soccer where someone may roll around on the ground if someone steps on their tows one can full body check the opposing players everywhere except for someone jumping into the trampolines. It is something that means it will be a hard sport for many people and one only needs to look the ages of the teams to see that it is a young man’s game. Some of the old guard of the sport have come back in the leadership of the company and some of the teams. Here are the notes on a couple that will help your slamball IQ

Stan’ Shakes’ Fletcher. Here from the start he is one of the best to play it and watching the older seasons from his time in the Steal to the Maulers he had been a guy who took the rules and made it a game adding the spark of creativity often scoring more then anyone in a game and even holding the scoring record in different categories. He wasn’t a ball hog though he and Goldman became the one two punch for the Steal. Now he has come back as a coach, but the man was one of the few that did not need training to be a slamball player, with his skill, history in the sport and imagination, if he translates those talents well his team can see themselves taking some hardware with the Slashers.

Mason Gordon. The guy who started it all he was someone who believed in doing something right meant doing something yourself. He made his way working both the leadership for the company and the teams trying to get deals and get shown to more eyes in China, Italy, and America over the years, but do not get it twisted as he was a member for the Diablos in the first run on USA airwaves. He took it serious and made sure that if anyone thought going soft was going to curry favor he would body check him themselves. Fiery and technically minded, he had to run the court himself so he knows what people may need coming on to it for the first time.

Coach Carter. The one where a movie made about his struggle to show students the value of education and sports together where Samuel Jackson famously played him is in Slamball. In fact he has been a champion with the Rumble, and every time his team is in the playoffs or gunning for some gold there is something about the crafty coach that often makes the team a step ahead of competition. Winners win and the coach who held the Olympic torch has shown he does just that. In it since day 1 he has been able to show time after time his skill for the rules and capabilities and how to get the most of people on his team has been enough to show winners win no matter the time, or what else they have on their plate, and as anyone after a small search can attest. Coach Carter wins and will show others how to, whether the other teams like it or not.

Enjoying A Game and a Time

One of the things that would catch your attention if you were channel surfing in the late 90’s is a sport called Slamball. A mix of physical rules, trampolines and basketball hoops that made it easier to understand and harder to figure how people would push things further. When I say trampolines, I mean the big ones you go somewhere and pay money to jump on to feel like you are weightless for a moment before coming back down with your heart in your chest. It was a kick to watch and instead of taking the lumps of trying to be a smaller sports league in the us they decided to go abroad. Getting more experience in different countries they had people of other countries and athletes join them to make the teams that we should be seeing soon. I was a huge fan of it there will be a post on that later in the day but, it is coming back.

For all the downs there has to be some things that give a little spirit. Some of the moments to get by could be something as simple as hoping a team has something more to have cheering for them. One is from the arena football league and while Portland, my home city, did not get the team, the capitol in the state did do something. Salem for those who do not know about my home state, Oregon, is the capitol and now it will have something that big brother Portland no longer has, an arena team.

It may not be something that will change the state around, and the capitol has many of the same problems. Homeless people seen everywhere, campsites all over the sidewalks, and more space open for lease. Not as bad as Portland, but still bad enough that anyone with a set of eyes and four brain cells to use with them will see. While it seems that everything in this state is taking the turn round the toilet bend, but a nice team event or some sports allows a lot of people who may be having a rough time to turn off their brain for a moment and be happy. Not saying people should do that all the time. I think we all know people who turned off their brain and forgot to reboot, but for what it is there are reasons to enjoy sports. Salem could use it and for those who have never been there are some places around the capitol where you can really see some beautiful things.


For example, there are some wineries that I had a chance to go to once. Traveling with someone who had been unused to professional wrestling there had been some time watching the people in the line as we waited for the start of the show. It was Impact wrestling and outside of seeing some of the fans who had been so passionate to the show and the craft, my traveling partner was not and did not enjoy the company of people who held homemade signs and belts for no reason other then money. Hours to spend we had to burn our time and the pair of us decided to take time so my travel colleague did not spend his time trying to cut a heel promo on everyone that annoyed him. Knowing him that list was going to be long enough and he could go long enough that everyone received a tongue lashing for free.

We got the chance to look around and on the backgrounds found quite a few wineries and cheese making places nestled in the fields and farmlands. Freshly made raw cheese with chives and blue berries and all sorts of different flavors while still being about a dollar over something similar in the store by eight. It would be much more expensive because these cheeses will make you want to eat it. It was a wonderful time despite being cheaper then a full meal at McDonalds and because of it we were able to get a wrestling shirt that my travel partner agreed with.

Plans To Bring The City Back

I have been trying to figure out ways to help my city and some people that I play Destiny 2 with have called me kingpin or Senator Armstrong based on if you are a Spiderman fan or one of Metal gear solid that would mean roughly the same. Someone who is hellbent on making something happen whether they are good or bad. Personally, the results have not been there and there is a part that is resting on different problems, trying to clear the way. When no answers come up there is just a couple moves left.

To make a move and slowly establish a foot hole and try to use that time to work for me expanding my reach within the city. People need to have the tools to live, and with the costs rising there has to be an answer. There is always an answer to be found, there is always something to be done in the world to make the goal happen. How much do you want to give up for it is something that often stops, but there has been something that has been coming to remind me even further. To push well past where my body should stop, something I have been getting back.

Things happen to people to make them give up a part of themselves, and in my quest to better myself and my world around me there has been something chained up. Let loose for an odd ego line, something coming back for all that has been done. That will be for something else, but right now there are certain things I will need to look at first. East Portland has been hit the most from the crime, but in doing so means there are spaces cheaper then it has been before. Products need to be manufactured and shipped from that area to bring some positive change.

Releasing products too early without working out problems means less quality, so it is all about finding that perfect balance of quality and timeliness for the sake of the most people. There is no perfect solution and while there is hope that you can give enough so that people and business get the best deal there are other factors in the way. Everything being written has gotten me to think about it and with how some of the laws have passed there may be a place for me to make something happen, but it will take a lot of sweat equity. Things that I have already begun in going to more appointments to see how businesses navigate the unfriendly Portland market. If you see me let me know.

First for the plan, one needs a foothold and that means some things will need to be paid through in the fall. Getting paperwork in order though means all has to be done before it can be sent in. Doing it while my body decides to short circuit and classes keep going while games and projects keep rolling. Even if the progress is small, it does push you forward. Each small move forward is something to make the finish line that much closer. Finding places where the opportunity can be made is important and it does not matter how much you have resource wise to give. There will always be something to be done and you can wish for more resources, but if you can do the shoestring and use the resources as needed then more options can be used.

Portland Fees and Falls

You know I want to be a blog about things succeeding, about my city doing well, and about things just going in a more positive direction. We cannot have nice things currently thought so here is what is going on in my charlie foxtrot of a home city.

A city who cannot clear their own sidewalks is asking business to take on fixes financially. That is some of the absolute dumbest shaniganery I have heard in a while. That is where part of this astronomical opening cost comes from, because the city who is being sued for not being ADA compliant because of all the campers on the sidewalk and needs to add ramps as needed from the sidewalk because that is public property.

Building permit costs has been astronomical and even places like Seattle are doing better

If that is the case then this would have been the problem for everyone pre pandemic, but there are very little cases to that, in fact a lot of people once declared Portland as a city easy to do business in. In short unless it changed in the pandemic all this shows is that our city is in a financial crunch and cannot raise funds or allocate funds to things they have done in the past.Also, we have not needed a sales tax in the past and got on for decades so unless people can claim that those in charge are so bad and the financial expanse of need versus resources so massive that they simply cannot I do not want to hear another word about a sales tax. Pound sand in every orifice and call yourself an hourglass, as that will be a more productive hobby.

Also, mind you it is not just this, it is insurance, it is fines, it is costs on top of costs, on top of costs and suddenly we have a downtown sector that looks more like a paintball war zone then an actual business sector. When the city cannot help people when businesses get their stock shoplifted and no cops come to help. It is something the city has had issues with for years, and I have been banging that drum enough that the drum has my phone number for booty calls. We are not in a place where the city can get out of this in months, we are in a place that this city gets out in years from now. That is provided that everyone in the city management, and the county and even the state management can get their head out of the proverbial backside.

Up next on the Portland makes me alcoholic article is that we had homeless people start getting physical with japanese diplomats who were touring the city. This personally gives me a sixth dimensional migraine, because some of my family, the ones I can work with help with that specific group to foster good relations between Portland and Sapporo. A program to have Japanese politicians and diplomats tour Portland to see what we are up to, and see what they want to learn and take back home with them. The only thing they may be learning is that we are turning into a sinkhole at record speeds. No one was harmed, it was light contact, there are plenty of reasons to look in the other direction if you cannot stand the truth. However, here we like shining flashlights where people need to see

This reason has come up enough times that now there is no nicety when dealing with it, child in heaven I was born in Portland and was a democrat up until Obama. Those who are a zealot to their own political code without needing to adapt to circumstance has to be bar non, on either side, some of the dumbest people walking the planet today. You cannot be this dumb and think you are doing good work. It does not work that way.

So I am going to go chill out.

Hunting Against the Clock

Time, you always lose it and for some reason you always need more. Some people may fret and some get a little chaotic. So what is on the docket for me this month?

Classes, I am a full time student and that means there is a lot of homework to do. There are reasons I need to stay on honor roll so there cannot be any times to falter. All of this takes time and it is first on my list of objectives.

Second, is Game of Tomes where the plan is to collect a third victory. Currently I have been first twice, and been in second twice when it comes to the individual writing amounts. Two major writing projects have been completed and there are still a few more that I can try to get done. All of this is good, but there a lot of power writers in the game and there has to be some point where they catch up. Homework takes so much time that getting time to write is going to be tough. Also, because of the competitions I am entering later in the year it is not like I can take my easy classes off. I got to go full force into making all of this happen.

Third, has to be the Destiny 2 rank, it is a game but there is enough time in it that I would like to do well and there would be a little smirk to see that I made it to at least rank 10. The plan is still to get to rank 11, and all this despite dashing around from point to point there is still enough to be able to fit it in.

Somewhere between first and second is making sure my transition to university goes well. Just between all of that it is looking like there is little time left, but right now as I am doing all of this there is working out when you can and making sure you try to do more for your physical health. To get stronger, and faster, and all against the half energy that is growing, maybe because of the pain that all the nerve attacks that won’t let me sleep. It would be funny if that for all the problems and how many times it left me exhausted, also made me able to still fight on.

All to chase some dragons. Part of me is smiling because the odds are more against me then with me. This old snake in the grass still has some venom left in him, ya know. Hopefully, things are doing well for you as well, things are tough, they are the times that will test you, and you can disappoint yourself very easy. Take it one step at a time, and you can make it further then you ever thought.

An Anomaly on the Horizon

You know, there is an excel championship, and you can compete for it. It would be real strange to just jump in and try for it. (pic)

Being that life sometimes feels like a circus, I decided to go get a ticket and try to have some fun. Granted I am taking a class for excel right now and that it is something interesting to have a on a resume or just go do. Competing on how to manipulate data to get the answers to questions. I like puzzles should be a fun time, and if I can win the game of tomes for writing it should be something that is fully possible to just have a lot of W’s for the year.

It would be a weird one, but it would also supply the one thing that makes the little chaos goblin in me smile. I hate how in some competitions people get serious to the point they think everything is a national emergency and will do anything to win. There have been multiple times in life where that has been seen whether in Magic The Gathering or YuGiOh to something like sports or conventions rules. People need to know when I think the rules are against one side or the other there is a particular part of my psyche that makes me want to what could be called a ‘stress test’ on the rules.

Where things could be interesting is that if people do not take it as serious as a national emergency you can make a lot of good friends and moments in these competitions. Anywho, I joined the competition for the world cup of excel. That should be a bit of fun for later on in the year, and as classes have to be taken with Excel,might as well be good at it. Found out there is a collegiate challenge so joined that as well, and who knows if it works out well there may be a finals appearance for me. It would be hilarious just because there are a lot of super serious types, and sometimes one needs to be reminded to enjoy these moments. Nothing would be better then showing up well.

Rule of the grid.

Things change over our lives and for those who have seen me on twitch there is a grid in my banner and is the second one. Originally the grid was something that if online trying to gather an audience I had been proud of I put it in a square and as time goes on you see how things change. Well, I have not been streaming, but the grid has been getting filled in with achievements and things that have became little moments where I was proud for sometimes the dumbest reason, but still a reason.

Looking back over it it has evolved to more then just games and subscriber numbers so I have something here for you. A lot of people may be proud of somethings that others are not, but from my experience no one feels proud of what they do. So this is free. Absolutely free. Fill it with things as you do them. This is no contest, this is so you in your bad times can look back and see what you are happy for, and if things change you can just continue to keep going. Mine in the beginning thought it would be cute, but over time it has helped me. Pic added because it is an achievement and it looked cool.

Anytime, I think I cannot, or that I am not good enough. I look to the challenges that I got past, and see each of those moments represented. It means there is still one more fight. All of them do not need to be serious, all of them do not need to be games, just do what you are proud of even if no one else is, but you will learn that progress means you have to keep going further. One step then means trying for two. Push yourself until you hit your goal, and maybe seeing this will let you know that you made steps before when you are down and you can go even further.

There is one wallpaper for things like my channel when four grids have been filled and one has been already, this is the second grid in the past couple years. When these get more filled in and the awards are bigger and the goals are bigger and the dragons are slain it becomes something that makes you want to keep going.
