Oracle of Portland

I am not an accountant. I am not a tax man. There are no degrees based on economics to my name yet. When my work and predictions are seen to be correct and those who are supposed to be good at it are wrong. Well, we should be shocked that someone without the degrees of what was needed was right when many of the supposed experts of the city are wrong. All of that would be the polite of saying the following, because some did not believe, and thought that someone learning like me was going to be wrong.

Yup, its Razorfist again.

Portland has lost a lot of money and despite me banging the drum, on twitter or x or whatever it is called. During the past few years between 2020 and 2021, it has come out that Multnomah county has lost a billion dollars.

For those who think my actions and beliefs are too cruel on the homeless community let me make a few things clear. I have lived it, been in it because of a situation where my family decided to betray me and the supposed social nets for being a disabled man trying to do my best showed that it did not exist. This is not the blog of someone thinking on it because it annoyed them camping everywhere, I camped in some of the places too.

We need a limit, a point where if people cross they go to jail. Between the cops not having the manpower and the measure 110 fiasco there is problems after problems and what angers me what makes me want to spit venom, is that I can take being called mean, if it means some people get it through their head and are able to move their way up. For all the programs and all the money and all the feel good about helping the house less, how many people are success stories? For all the time and all the feel good policy it is rare at all to hear about a single person who had been helped and thy made something of themselves. Goodness knows that if there was, then it would be put on every paper as evidence that the path they are taking is the correct one.

When people are willing to seem mean then they can take actions that people may not like but there are actions that often have to be done especially when leading a group of people, or city, or state. For example if you give candy to a class of young kids, you will be liked but you have not done anything to help. If you are seen as a hard teacher, you may not be liked as much the trade off though is that they will be learning. Give 100 dollars to an addict and you will be more liked, but if they cannot handle their addiction then it isn’t going to do any good. Unfortunate that people in Portland are tricked by the first kind of action because the second will be what actually gets stuff done whether it makes them feel good or not. For all the resources we have, we do not get time back and wasting it like this is just foolishness squared upon itself.

It is something that will keep happening no matter what.

Stay focused and stay strong.

Also because of midterms and homework there are a lot of posts today. Sorry in advance.

…..

Is there a need to say it?

Might as well at this point.

So, today’s contribution for me being the next oracle of delphi is fresh from the Oregonian. Mind you, this is the biggest paper in the region, and when I was beating the drums that we have problems back when we could have fixed it without major issue a few years ago, there had been some who had called me out for being pessimistic because the Oregonian didn’t talk about it. Go. Read the Opinion from the paper that people said they will come around when this paper does. While you do that please be aware of all the things in the past tense. The tense that things already occurred, the tense that actions have been committed.

The only reason I bring it up that I was right, was because I do not want to hear ow so many people could not have seen it.

https://www.oregonlive.com/opinion/2023/04/editorial-oregon-is-dealt-a-blow.html

Look at it all, read the article and let it echo especially if you were the kind thinking I as pessimist, because those people with high end college degrees? I was right. The city commissioners who said they know better? I was right. The people who lived in the pearl or in the expensive towers who thought they had a better grasp? I was right. People who thought measure 110 was going to happen and make the city perfect when I thought it would make it right? The only right was me, and all the others who could read to a third grade level and could see what was going on, and not be given nice words or pretty pictures when all of it is fake.

Between blog posts, less then seven days, no less then a business has shuddered a day. A day brings the death toll for a business some with thirty, forty, fifty years and all of them are now shells. Considering there are not enough to replace them means a bit of a problem. No longer helping the community, no longer making it better. Some may think I am being a bit crass, but when you are right, time and time again, and people do not listen, because I am not the only one, this is not some rocket science we are calculating on our fingers here.

I want Portland to be better, I want it to be the city I love again. However, the people who are so lost seem to put their hands up just saying an oops and then walking off like they did the right thing anyway. Well things have been a bit of a riddle, because I do not have the supplies to make any store or anywhere in Portland right now, not enough anyway to make more of a difference. Because one has to remember there is not a lot of help from the police, insurance is going to be higher, and often times one has to defend themselves, their has to be a way, but their needs to be a way to bring about ideas for business that bring back some of the safety of before.

Until the next time.

Stay Strong.

Unfashionably Late

I had plans to get something out talking about the progress on projects and about how it all was building to seemingly more and more and it was going to be very warm and fuzzy. Except for those why may know the history of this blog may remember that this was originally established when due to family issues I was forced out with very little notice.

Then the plan was to do a pat on the back because despite learning of the homeless situation and learning what has built into it, there really wasn’t much to crow about. I was right. There are problems and people really dragged their heels to work on it. I will however still post this gif because some people really wanted to argue about how right I was.

Sometimes it does help when some people actually listen to what is being said.

With that out of the way now we have some issues, I have been trying to stay away from the homeless situation to some degree because I am no longer homeless, except something that has been sticking in my craw has come to be a full-blown annoyance and I feel I have to write about it here and that is I would expect someone from the portland scene to write about the situation and nothing has been done of it since then. I did not want to be the loudest voice trying to talk about my home city on this subject but it has been two full years since I wrote more in-depth on it and I feel that I need to again, especially with how the city has failed its citizens both in housing and not.

I am not going to say that I will be doing so many articles a day but there are some things I think need to be looked at and my place is as good as any. On top of all that it seems that no one really wants to talk about how the problem will need to be handled for the sake of as many people as possible. Right now, what I am worried about is a group of people in Portland trying to make decisions quickly to make up for years of inactivity and going too far on it making their efforts that much of complete failure.

Does this mean that I am stopping anything? Nope, in fact, provided I can get my list of smaller things done I will see how people can just be subbed to that as it seems some of you really like to hear about that subject.

You know the drill, stay strong.
